Shining Soul European Release Date – NOT in February

Well folks, I received a reply from Sega today, here’s what they had to say about Shining Soul’s February 14th 2003 European release date, as claimed by many sites:

“Nice to meet you and thank for your interest in Sega’s Shining Soul. I am the Product Manager for this title and can confirm that we are still negotiating a street date with our distributor but it is likely to be slightly later than February at this stage. Please keep an eye out for further details on Sega-Europe.com.”

They have also provided me with details for the relevant person at Infogrames to contact regarding obtaining a review copy of the game. When I contact him, I’ll also be sure to mention a few ways in which they could correct the storyline in the translation 😉

Regular Update

As usual, there’s a new MP3, new comic and a new poll for you to vote in!

The results of last fortnight’s poll can be found in the Polls Archive, if you didn’t already see them. For some reason there was an error when voting in the poll, but I think I’ve fixed it now. Please let me know if you still receive an error when voting!

There are still areas of the site I need to get updated, but for the last three weeks I’ve had the flu, and various other things have kept me from it. At least the update’s on time, ne? My friend in Japan sent me some magazine articles to scan in for the site, so I’ll do those ASAP! Well, I’ll try to get them updated after Christmas… won’t be around much over the festive season, due to all the family visits etc that we’re expected to do. Oh well! So, in case I don’t update again before, here’s wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Shining Soul set for 14-Feb-03 release – it seems to be true!

Many thanks to Edge for contacting me about this! Though there still doesn’t seem to be any official confirmation on Sega’s website, Amazon UK now has Shining Soul up for pre-order at UK£26.99 (about US$42.00).

So, what are you waiting for? The game may not be the greatest in the series, but we need to show that we still love the Shining series… so, go pre-order it! *lol* I’m actually now rather excited about this, and I’m wondering if Sega Europe was inspired by the Campaign’s request to release Shining Soul in English? They were certainly very positive about the Campaign packs!

Shining Soul European Release Date?

Rumours are rampant that Shining Soul has had a European release date set – Feburary 14th of 2003, apparently. Several gaming sites have mentioned it (many thanks to the various SFC Forum members who made me aware of this), though Sega’s site has nothing to confirm the rumour, and many of the larger gaming sites have said nothing of it either.

Take it with a pinch of salt folks, this could just be a hoax. Either way, I can’t say I’m that excited about the news.

Regular Update

Well, it’s a couple of days late, but better late than never, eh? PC problems and bathroom decorating kept me away, but now all the usual updates are ready 🙂

So, we have a new comic, new MP3, new poll and a new contest too! The winner of last month’s contest has been announced.

I’ve also archived November’s news, the old comic and the old poll.

Not much else to report at present… still some areas to be updated later on, but they’ll have to wait until my bathroom’s been painted 😉

Various Updates

My apologies for the lack of updates. My Oma (that’s Dutch for Grandmother) passed away a couple of weeks ago, and with all the other things going on at the moment, the site has had to take a lower priority than usual.

There are several areas I’ve got on my list to update, and I’ll endevour to do these over the coming week:

– Desktops
– My Collection
– Fan Art
– Premium Disc production credits
– Where to Buy Shining Goods

I’ve managed to get several more Shining Magazine Articles up today, many thanks to those who supplied them (credited with the articles). I’ve also updated the Shining Collectables section. There are also two new Shining Force II midis, courtesy of Jarel Jones. The Shining Series Introduction has also been added, though I’ve yet to add any pictures to brighten the page up 😉

Tomorrow’s update should hopefully be done in time, but please bear with me if it isn’t. Your entries for the Incomplete Finale contest should be in by now, as the closing date has passed.

Just a pre-warning in case the update is late – my PC power supply seems to be on it’s last legs, so if it goes completely it may be a day or two before I get a new one… in which case, I won’t be around for a while.
