I’ve updated my collection page with about a dozen new items, and added a high-res scan of the Brazlian Shining in the Darkness box art to the SitD Artwork page. I’m trying to find time to update my chronology page more as I play through Shining Wisdom, however preparing the Christmas Comic Strip for SFC is taking most of my free time. I hope it’s worth all the work!

I’ve got a new midi to add very soon, but other priorities have to be done first. My apologies to the author for not finding time to mail him back yet. I’m currently working on a backlog of about 200 emails 🙁 Not a very enjoyable task.

Well, I don’t really do a lot for Halloween myself, but I know a lot of you do, and certainly Sae seems to get into the spirit of things! Indeed, our talented winner of the first SFC contest (which was a fan art contest) has drawn us a great picture for Halloween! Thanks, Sae! This is what she has to say about it:

“This would be Apis, Ragu, and Wendy trick-or-treating when they were younger (starting out at Wendy’s house, of course ;)). The costumes are supposed to be Max, Bleu, and Tao, but Shining outfits are pretty generic ^^;”

There’s a new MP3, new comic strip and a new poll for you, as always!
I’ve updated my Collection page, the Shining Force 3 Scenario 1 Artwork now includes the OST obi too. I’ve added a members birthdays section to the Forums (which are now 100% working again!), and finished translating chapter 2 of Final Conflict. Also, don’t forget you’ve got less than 2 weeks left to enter the contest!

The CGI “500” Errors seem to be worse today than yesterday. I’m stumped as to what’s causing them, but they’re now affecting every script on my site, so I wonder if my CGI access has been disabled or something… 🙁 I’ve contacted my host admins and have yet to hear back from them. Due to the script problems, this page is probably looking highly distorted right now, as the SSI commands are instead embedding the error page (which, unfortunately I’ve been unable to change despite my best efforts).
Please do not email me about the problems, unless it’s to tell me they’re gone! I’m aware that major things are going on here, but I’ve done all I can do, and now I think it’s down to my host to look into it. I’m really sorry for the inconvenince, please bear with me and just hold tight for now!

It’s not quite the same as the Ikonboard, but it’s a great temporary replacement. All the usual forum rules apply there, so if you’re not familiar with those I suggest you refrain from posting and wait until the normal forums are back up.

My apologies to all of the SFC message board users for the amount of errors that have been occuring during the last 12 hours or so. When the board reaches ~15,000 posts it tends to go screwy and from there it’s hard to cut down the number of posts because each time I try to delete something, I get another error. They should be back to normal shortly, I hope.
Another contributing factor is the demand on the scripts. We’ve seen the boards working fine with ~50 members on at once, but now imagine if each of those members was viewing say, 3 different boards at once, in different browser windows – that would be more like 150 requests on the board as opposed to 50, making the load/demand greater, and causing more errors.

So, would all board users please restrict themselves to viewing the boards in just one window at a time!

It’s now just past 1AM, and I’ve finished adding the Shining Soul section here at SFC 🙂 Not a lot there yet, but I’ve organised all the links I’ve gathered so far.
Time for bed now, methinks.

Today, for your pleasure and enjoyment, I am happy to present to you the Winner of the September Contest! The October Contest is now ready to accept your entries 🙂

As always there’s a new poll, comic strip and MP3 for you, and in addition to that I’ve also found the time to add over 100 sites to the SFC directory! There are now 335 sites listed, categorised and rated!

Of the sites I’ve added, I’d have to say these are the most noteworthy:
Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya – has such a cool main page!!
Shining in the Darkness Shrine – a superb Shining in the Darkness site
Shining Force CD Shrine – one of the most complete SHFCD sites I’ve seen so far!

Of course, there are plenty of other great sites added to, so have a good browse through the listings if you have the time.

I’ve moved all of September’s updates to the News Archive, so this page is a little less cluttered 🙂

I’ve got some additions to the Shining Chronology section, but I haven’t had the chance to add them yet. I added one piece of new Shining Force II Artwork, and will add more soon.

There’s not a lot else to report, except the Campaign is going as well as ever! The other sites haven’t received updates really over the last couple of weeks, as following the tragic loss of my aunt, things have been very busy around my home, and I haven’t felt much like updating. Thanks to everyone who sent messages of sympathy and condolence, my family appreciated all your kind words.

What else? Hmmm… oh, I have a couple of URLs to add to the “where to buy Shining Force” page, which I intend to add soon. I’ve also updated my Collection page, as it’s grown somewhat in the last month.

I still have some rare Shining Force Gaiden cards for sale, so email me if you want to discuss buying some.

Just thought you might be interested to know that I’ve managed to get my hands on a few unopened packets of Shining Force Gaiden cards – these are ultra rare, and I’ve put a couple of packs on Ebay, but also have a few others. If you want to buy any, let me know, or check out the auctions here and here.

Though I won’t be adding more MP3s due to the legal implications, I will certainly try to add more artwork and wallpapers ASAP.

I may not be online much these next few days, or replying to email. I’ll try to be at the forums during work hours if I can, but I’ll be busier at work this week, and in the evenings our phoneline is pretty tied up, as there are many arrangements to be made. I’m sorry.

First of all, I’m sure you’re all aware of the tragedies that befell the USA yesterday. My thoughts are with all those affected by these awful events.
In light of yesterday’s events, I had to change the comic strip of the fortnight at the last minute, as the one I had planned for this fortnight (and drew over a week ago) may have seemed somewhat tasteless under the current circumstances. The replacement may not be up to the usual standard, and for that, I apologise. But I’m sure many of you are not in any mood for comedy at this time anyway, and understandably so.

I intended to review another bunch of sites for addition to the directory, but I ended up getting carried away with my Final Conflict translation, and in the last few days have translated 4 (pretty long) sections. Check it out at the Final Conflict site!

The Shining Force Campaign is going very well, with over 130 signatures added in about 2 days. Support so far is great, so if you haven’t already added your name and sent an email, why not nip along to the Campaign site and do so now!

I’ve got a few more items to add to my collection page, but I’m holding off doing that until the other half dozen items I’m waiting for arrive.

Finally, without further ado, here are the results of last fortnight’s poll. I was somewhat disappointed to see that so many people “don’t care” whether there’s a new game, but it’s great to see how hopeful the majority are that there will be another Shining game!
